Follow this guide to help achieve a smooth, beautiful finish.

Step 1: Prepare Your Wall

Before applying your wall decal, make sure the surface is clean, dry, and smooth.

  • Remove dust, dirt, and grease.
  • Allow the wall to dry completely.
  • Avoid applying decals to peeling, damaged, or uneven paint.
  • If your wall has been freshly painted, follow the paint manufacturer’s recommended curing time before applying decals.

Tip: Test a small, inconspicuous area first to check surface compatibility.

Step 2: Plan Your Design

Before removing the backing paper, decide where you want to place your wall decal.

  • Measure your wall space.
  • Arrange the design pieces before installation.
  • Use removable masking tape to temporarily position the decal.
  • Check the alignment and spacing.

Tip: For larger designs, having someone assist you can make installation easier.

Step 3: Apply Your Wall Decal

Carefully follow the application instructions supplied with your product.

For decals supplied with transfer tape:

  1. Place the decal on a flat surface.
  2. Gently smooth over the transfer tape to help the design adhere.
  3. Slowly peel away the backing paper.
  4. Position the decal on your wall.
  5. Press gently from the center outward using a soft cloth or application tool.
  6. Slowly remove the transfer tape while checking that the decal stays attached to the wall.

For peel-and-stick decals without transfer tape, carefully remove the backing and apply the decal gradually, smoothing as you go.

Step 4: Smooth Out Air Bubbles

If small air bubbles appear during installation, gently smooth them toward the edges using a soft cloth or suitable application tool.

Avoid pulling or stretching the decal excessively.
